HOUSTON (Oct.7)—Rhodia Inc. will complete the relocation of its North American silicone elastomers production to Rock Hill, S.C., from Troy, N.Y., this month, the firm said. The company said in December 2001 it would spend about $2 million in modifications to the Rock Hill plant, including building additions that were necessary to accommodate added machinery. Rhodia Silicones started construction of the 15,000-sq.-ft. expansion at Rock Hill during the first quarter of 2002. The expansion plan was developed to support Rhodia Silicones' worldwide and North American leadership positions in the mold making market and to strengthen manufacturing and operation capabilities.
