KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. (Sept. 12)—Blachford R.P. Corp., the successor company to fallen heavy-duty flooring producer Crossville Rubber Products Inc., has signed a letter of intent to form a cooperative agreement with Stankiewicz GmbH, a unit of Phoenix A.G. in Germany. The agreement supercedes Blachford's own production which should begin later this fall, according to Gus Biddle, a Blachford manager. "As the acknowledged European leader in the floor covering industry, Stankiewicz GmbH will strengthen Blachford R.P. Corp.'s new venture in Kings Mountain, N.C.," Blachford said in a written statement. "Together, these two companies will be able to offer their customers the widest possible choices in floor coverings." The aim of the pact is to provide customers of both companies with the most technologically advanced floor coverings available, Blachford said.
