AKRON (Sept. 11)—FACTS Inc. has expanded its reach in the elastomer extrusion industry with the introduction of another system to its process control and information management line. The company's TEC 150FSR total extrusion control system is designed as a drop-in replacement unit for obsolete systems or those without available support, said Al Hodge, who in August was named director of marketing and sales for the Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio-based company. The new unit has advanced features and is intended to replace the extrusion temperature controlling and monitoring functions of outmoded systems. In addition, it has several other new features, including a high-resolution, 10.4-inch touch screen for operator command input plus data and a graphics display, Hodge said at the International Tire Exhibition and Conference, held Sept.10-12 in Akron. The TEC 150FSP does not require discrete controls, has several standard configurations and requires no computer skills, the company said.
