NEW DELHI, India (Sept. 9)—At the request of the government of India, Goodyear is providing Indian rubber growers with advice on how to improve production and quality, according to a Goodyear news release. Goodyear officials met with Murasoli Maran, India's minister of commerce and industry, in May, then hosted a delegation of Indian rubber processors to tour Goodyear's NR plantation in Sumatra. "The objective was to demonstrate world-class standards in natural rubber production to help the Indian processors implement changes to improve the quality of rubber from their facilities," Gary Miller, Goodyear vice president of purchasing, said in the release.
