LONDON (Aug. 28)—British belting maker Fenner P.L.C. has acquired Eagle Belting Co., a Des Plaines, Ill.-based manufacturer of thermoplastic polyurethane belting, for $5.25 million. The U.S. firm's products are used mainly in high-speed package handling applications, Fenner said. "The addition of the highly regarded Eagle products to our existing product portfolio provides a firm foundation from which to accelerate growth within this market niche," Fenner Chief Executive Mark Abrahams said in a company statement. Eagle Belting, founded in 1916 but specializing in TPU belting since 1978, distinguishes its products from the competition by making them orange.
