CARY, N.C. (Aug. 23)—Polyzen Inc. has expanded its presence in the medical products industry with the development of thermoformed polyurethane film that allows it to produce low pressure balloons in previously unattainablebody to neck ratios. The process gives Polyzen the capability of making polyurethane balloons in any size and configuration, a company spokesman said. Polyzen's offeringùstarting with its new series of polyurethane films and featuring grades that can be thermoformedùis aimed at medical product manufacturers who need balloons with big bodies and smaller necks in non-latex materials, according to Tilak Shah, president of company. Applications include catheters for drug delivery, vascular and stomach uses, and an assortment of others, the spokesman said.
