WASHINGTON (Aug. 20)—Continental Tire North America Inc. is voluntarily recalling 595,000 tires that are original equipment on 106,721 2000 and 2001 two-wheel-drive Ford Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators. The tires are Continental P275/60R17 ContiTrac AW and General Grabber AW P275/60R17 radials. Approximately 60,000 of the tires are in the replacement market. Conti is recalling the tires because they are not up to company standards after two years of service, according to a company press release. Company officials could not be reached for further comment.
