Dynaflex-brand G2706 thermoplastic elastomer compound from GLS Corp. has been approved for use in applications that require U.S. Pharmacopoeia XIX Class VI certification. The G2706 grade also is compliant to Food and Drug Administration CFR 177.1210 regulations. Given its elastomeric properties and soft durometer, G2706 is a good alternative to latex or other thermoset rubbers that have been associated with allergic reactions in some health care workers or patients, the firm claims. Applications for the material include medical tubing, sheets, bands, syringe tips and bulbs, and earplugs. For more information, call 815-385-8500, or visit www.glscorp.com.
