BIRMINGHAM, England (July 2)—Energy Power Resources Ltd. has cancelled a $52 million project to build a tires-to-energy plant at FourAshes, near Wolverhampton, England, because of financing difficulties, the company said. The planned 15.5 megawatt electricity facility would have consumed 65,000 metric tons of waste tires annually. EPRL previously delayed the scheduled start up of the plant by 12 months, to January 2003, because of problems with securing financing for the project.
