AKRON (June 19)—Goodyear has increased its net income forecast for the second quarter of 2002 to a range of 10-15 cents per share, the company announced June 19. The Akron tire maker previously said it expected net income of between 5 cents and 10 cents per share for the quarter, which ends June 30. The higher projection is due to ongoing cost-reduction and improved results from its international operations, Goodyear said. The firm earned 5 cents per share in the second quarter of 2001.
