CLEARWATER, Fla. (June 7)—The Pharmaceutical Systems Division of West Pharmaceutical Services Inc. has expanded its Clearwater closure manufacturing facility by 20,000 square feet to bring the plant up to 65,000 square feet. The addition ties in with a program West has initiated to meet the pharmaceutical industry's growing requirements for precision and cleanliness, according to a company spokeswoman. The expansion will improve the quality of the company's products and operating procedures, she said. The Clearwater site, which employs about 140, makes precision components used to package pharmaceutical and dental goods. Its operations include aluminum seal manufacturing, assembly of rubber-lined seals, and assembly of seals and plastic Flip-Off buttons.
