SAVAGE, Minn. (June 6)—GreenMan Technologies Inc. has signed a letter of intent to acquire R&J Recycling, a collector and seller of scrap tires working in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. The purchase, set to close in early July, will divert R&J's supply of 400,000-500,000 tires annually to the GreenMan Technologies of Minnesota site in Savage, said Chuck Coppa, GreenMan chief financial officer. "This sort of acquisition is an integral part of our external growth plan," said Coppa, who noted this is the fourth acquisition or joint venture deal GreenMan has made so far this year.
