WATERFORD, N.Y. (June 5)—LSR2005 elastomer from GE Silicones is a silicone material with gel-like consistency for use in cushioning and soft touch applications like shoe insoles, external prostheses and office machine rollers. The translucent, two-component rubber is Food and Drug Administration compliant and can be mixed in a 1:1 ratio, the firm said. Depending on part size, configuration and molding temperature, the material can cure in 10-40 seconds at 300-400²F.
