EDINBURG, Texas (June 5)—Ford Motor Co. and Michelin & Cie. have settled a wrongful death case in a Texas state court. Raul Aguirre Pedraza, 49, and his wife Ana Maria Martinez de Aguirre, 45, were killed near Monterrey, Mexico, in January 2000 when a Uniroyal tire on their 1995 Ford Explorer suffered a tread separation, causing the vehicle to roll over. Michelin said the tire was 13 years old and had been repaired improperly. Details of the settlement were not revealed.
