The Single Point Sensor (SPR-04) from LMI Selcom is designed for tight and demanding measurement applications requiring high accuracy and a high frequency rate for measuring distance, thickness or material deformation, positioning and profiling. The Charge Coupled Device-based sensor uses optical triangulation principles to deliver resolution of better than 0.001 inch at rates of up to 1,800 measurements per second, according to the LMI Technologies Inc. division. With a field adjustable measurement range of two to eight inches, the non-contact SPR-04 includes communication software that lets the customer adjust the measurement range, voltage output, invalid set point, laser power and filtering.
