NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 30)—After spending 10 years at its corporate headquarters in Nashville, Bridgestone/Firestone Americas Holdings Inc. officials said last week the company is searching for new office space that might move the manufacturer out of the city or state. Bridgestone/Firestone said it would like to consolidate its four Nashville sites, which are scattered around the city, into one location, and to bring together about 800 employees in one facility, the firm said. "The problem is finding a space that fits our needs and is also a good financial deal," said a company spokeswoman. "We're looking at a number of options. We really want to stay in Nashville, but we have an obligation to look at all of the options and what's best for our employees." The country's second largest tire maker, Bridgestone/Firestone was based in Akron, Ohio, for more than 80 years before heading to Nashville at the end of 1991.
