RICHMOND, British Columbia (May 29)—SmarTire Systems Inc. has developed a tire monitoring system for motorcycles. Under the system, each tire will be equipped with a SmarTire sensor that constantly monitors tire pressure and temperature, transmitting data to an LED display. If tire pressure changes, the rider will see a warning light on the display. If tire pressure continues to decrease, the warning light will begin to flash, indicating the pressure loss is at a serious level, SmarTire said. The system can be fitted to all standard motorcycles and is scheduled to be available to aftermarket and original equipment customers by year-end.
