FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (May 21)—ZF Friedrichshafen A.G. is consolidating its Boge and Lemforder rubber-to-metal divisions into one independent business unit that the company said will be the world's fourth-largest producer of rubber-to-metal products.
The new unit, ZF Boge Elastmetall, combines the businesses of the former Boge-Sachs and ZF's Lemforder Elastmetall activities. It operates 12 plants in nine countries and generates annual sales of nearly $420 million with 3,400 employees.
The consolidation is part of ZF Friedrichshafen's ongoing integration of the Sachs activities acquired in November. It will be managed by an executive committee and directed by Bernd Habersack, chairman of the board, ZF Lemforder Chassis Technology and president of ZF Group North American Operations.
