LANSING, Mich. (May 14)—Michigan Attorney General Jennifer M. Granholm and officials of Bridgestone/Firestone will hold a series of news conferences May 15 in Lansing, Detroit, Flint and Grand Rapids. The events will feature announcements regarding charges in a criminal investigation and concerning consumer tire safety. Both BFS and Granholm´s office said the charges had nothing to do with BFS or tire recalls, adding that the tire maker has aided the attorney general´s office in its investigation. They declined to say anything more, because the exact charges and the parties involved won't be named until May 15.
