TRELLEBORG, Sweden (April 29)—Trelleborg A.B. and JPS Industries Inc. have agreed to cooperate in marketing and sales of some of each others' products in their respective geographic regions. The agreement, effective May 1, primarily involves Trelleborg's Building Systems Business selling in Europe the Stevens thermoplastic polyolefin roofing membranes of JPS's JPS Elastomerics division. The deal could boost Trelleborg's annual sales by as much as $2.5 million, the Swedish company said. "We have made a long and careful study of the way in which the TPO market has developed in Europe in recent years and believe that this type of product can be an important complement to the current Trelleborg range, which is based on bitumen (asphalt) and EPDM," said Peter Suter, president of Trelleborg Building Systems. In the U.S., JPS Elastomerics will handle certain, unspecified Trelleborg products.
