TRELLEBORG, Sweden (April 11)—Trelleborg Wheel Systems S.p.A. is closing its industrial tire operations in Evergem, Belgium, and moving production to lower cost units in Sri Lanka and Spain. The production phase-out will affect 126 employees at Evergem, which Trelleborg acquired from Belgium's Bergougnan in the 1980s. Trelleborg said moving production out of Evergem is part of a restructuring program begun late last year. Trelleborg took a charge of $20 million against earnings last year to account for the costs of the restructuring.
