FINDLAY, Ohio (April 3)—Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is launching a new national advertising campaign designed to highlight the affordability of the brand and consumer confidence in it. Broadcast spots will air this month on national cable networks, as well as in tandem with the Professional Golfers' Association's Bay Hill Invitational and varsity sports and championships in six collegiate athletic conferences. Aimed at a younger, broader audience, the slice-of-life spots have the slogan "Don't give up a thing," and feature scenarios like a father and daughter shopping for tires and a young man struggling through a storm to get home and let his dog out. Cooper's print ad campaign, which features a modified road sign on the side of a wet, winding highway, reminds consumers that with Cooper tires, they can "feel confident without feeling broke." The print ads will appear in "Redbook" and "Popular Mechanics" magazines, beginning with the June issues and running through the fall.
