AKRON (March 28)—Three synthetic rubber suppliers are raising prices 1½ to 3 cents a pound. Goodyear, in a letter to customers dated March 25, said it will raise prices by 2 cents a pound on April 1 for various styrene-butadiene and polybutadiene rubber grades. Ameripol Synpol Corp. followed with a letter announcing SBR price increases ranging from 1½ to 2 cents a pound, effective April 15. DSM Copolymer Inc. said it will hike prices 2 to 3 cents on its SBR and SBR masterbatch on April 15. Ameripol Synpol and DSM Copolymer cited higher feedstock costs for the increases.
