WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (March 21)—Marangoni Tread North America Inc. is moving its headquarters to Nashville, Tenn., from Walnut Creek in preparation for establishing tread rubber manufacturing and warehousing there. In addition, Marangoni has appointed Bill Sweatman president and CEO of Marangoni Tread N.A., replacing Jack Woodland, who becomes chairman of the company and will remain in Walnut Creek. Marangoni Tread N.A., a subsidiary of Italy's Marangoni S.p.A., will locate its new headquarters at the former Pirelli Armstrong Tire Co. facility in Nashville. The company will make the circular Ringtread tread rubber at the site starting in 2003. Sweatman has more than 20 years' experience in the tire industry, including 13 with Bandag Inc. and seven with Michelin North America Inc.
