CLEARWATER, Fla. (March 18)—TSE Industries Inc. has purchased two millable polyurethane product lines—Adiprene and Vibrathane—and some equipment from Crompton Corp. for an undisclosed amount. The additions likely will lead to an expanded work force, which currently totals about 250, according to Rob Klingel, president of the Clearwater-based firm. He also said TSE will develop offshoot products from the technology and the company may purchase some new machinery as orders increase. The acquisitions will increase TSE's business by about 40 percent, Klingel said. "This gives us more lines along with the technologies from both companies," and basically combines the two firms' millable polyurethane goods expertise accumulated over the last 25 years, he said. Middlebury, Conn.-based Crompton sold the product lines "because it wasn't a good fit for us," a spokesman said. "But it's a good fit for them because it complements their existing business."
