AKRON (March 8)—Goodyear has selected Tokyo-based Fujikura Ltd. as a preferred supplier of sensor microchips for low-pressure tire warning systems. The chips will be used in tires for monitoring systems developed by Goodyear and Siemens VDO Automotive Corp. Goodyear and Siemens entered an agreement in September to develop and market the low-pressure warning system. Fujikura has three research labs and five plants in Japan and owns Fujikura Technology America Corp., based in Santa Clara, Calif.
