The Automotive Elastomers Conference June 18-19 in Dearborn, Mich., will have an international flair.
The program, covering the whole range of elastomeric materials used in the automobile, will include speakers from the Institut fur Kunststofftechnik, Universitat Paderborn and Queen's University. They will discuss rubber mixing, computer-aided screw design and finite energy analysis of sealing bead tearing in an automotive air filter.
The meeting will include 15 other papers from world-renowned companies, according to Conference Chairman Michael Hanks, director of materials for Cooper-Standard Automotive. ``The goal of the conference is to provide advanced information, thereby making each delegate more of an asset to their company in regard to products, technology and new applications,'' he said.
As part of the $495 early registration fee, conference delegates also will receive a notebook/binder delegate pack, a complete set of all the papers presented at the conference, complimentary lunch on June 19 and admission to the opening night cocktail reception.
The conference, organized jointly by Rubber & Plastics News and Cooper-Standard Automotive, will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn. A special room rate of $145 (plus tax) per night has been secured for guests. For reservations, call 313-593-234.
