WOLVERHAMPTON, England (Feb. 19)—Goodyear Great Britain Ltd. is ending its 12-year-old sponsorship of the Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. The club, nicknamed Wolves, provides the local soccer team for the Midlands town, where Goodyear's largest British tire plant is based. The facility's work force has been cut to around 1,300 from 3,200 in 1998. The future of remaining operations depends on the outcome of a performance review this year.
