GLOSSOP, England (Feb. 11)—Volcrepe and St. Albans Rubber—the British cellular polymer manufacturing subsidiaries of Evans and Reid Investment Co. Ltd.—have combined to form E&R Polymers Ltd. With manufacturing sites at Glossop, Derbyshire and Stanley, England, the new company will be headed by Simon Mulhall. Headquartered in Glossop, the firm will be more competitive because of cost savings arising from the merger and greater focus on new business development and customer service, said Mulhall, who previously was director and general manager of St. Albans Rubber. "The merger of the two companies will enable us to offer cellular polymer customers a new range of innovative products, including body protection/body armor materials," Mulhall said in a prepared statement.
