WASHINGTON (Jan. 30)—Bayerischen Motoren Werke A.G. has recalled 1,318 BMW Series 5 cars manufactured in September and October 2001. The cars, equipped with Continental ContiTouring CH95 EcoPlus tires, size 225/65R16 95H, may have suffered tire damage by being cut with a sharp edge during factory mounting. BMW dealers will inspect the tires and replace all damaged ones.
