WILMINGTON, Del. (Jan 16.)—DuPont Dow Elastomers L.L.C. and Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio-based Eagle Elastomer Inc. have inked an agreement to manufacture and market cured fluoroelastomer profiles using Viton-brand fluoroelastomer technology. DuPont Dow has named Eagle a manufacturer of the custom Viton-brand Tracer compounds for select customers and applications. The Viton Tracer compounds offer seal specifiers and equipment manufacturers the quality assurance that the parts purchased are made from genuine Viton. In ultraviolet light, post-cured parts made of the compound appear green and the non-post-cured parts appear blue, while parts made from other materials look black, which helps in the inspection of parts and the possibility of using the wrong parts for an application.
