BRUSSELS, Belgium (Jan. 7)—The European Commission has started anti-dumping proceedings against Egyptian and Russian carbon black exporters. The move, initiated Dec. 21, followed a complaint by the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic). European carbon black producers are suffering as a result of significant dumping margins and price undercutting on products originating in Egypt and Russia, according to a Cefic statement.
