DETROIT (Dec. 19)—John T. Lampe, Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. CEO, met with Ford Motor Co. officials Dec. 10 in Detroit for the first time since severing ties with the auto maker in May. "We don't discuss details, but we can say the participants found the discussions fruitful and beneficial," a Bridgestone/Firestone spokeswoman said. No further talks have been scheduled, she added. Officials of Bridgestone Corp., Bridgestone/Firestone's parent firm, paved the way for Lampe's talks by meeting with Ford officials in Hawaii the weekend of Nov. 17.
