MASSILLON, Ohio (Dec. 10)—Workers at the Massillon Perry medical glove manufacturing facility owned by Ansell Healthcare Products Inc. will stay on the job, at least for the time being. As it stands now, the factory probably will continue manufacturing surgical latex gloves until at least the latter part of December. The Red Bank, N.J.-based company planned to close the more-than 50-year-old factory in September, but when it didn't close, an official at Ansell said the glove-dipping end of the business would shut down Dec. 7. When about 20 members of the union local went to Red Bank to picket Ansell's headquarters Dec. 5, they were told some production may stay open through the beginning of 2002. Ansell did not confirm the dates and company officials did not return repeated phone calls.
