HOUSTON (Nov. 21)—A scientist involved in Kraton thermoplastic elastomers and a retired Bayer A.G. executive have won the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers' two top awards. William C. Vonk, Research & Technical Support Department manager at Kraton Polymers, won the IISRP's Technical Award for this R&D and application work using styrenic block copolymers as bitumen modifiers. Kleinheidt, former general manager and business group leader at Bayer, took the General Award for his contributions to the rubber industry and the IISRP. They will receive their awards at the group's annual general meeting in Naples, Italy, next May.
