TOKYO (Nov. 21)—The top executives of Bridgestone Corp. and Ford Motor Co. met in Honolulu on the weekend of Nov. 17-18 in a step towards reconciliation after the two companies had broken up over the recall of Firestone tires on Ford Explorers. Bridgestone CEO Shigeo Watanabe met with Nick Scheele, Ford chief operating officer, a Bridgestone spokesman said, marking the first high-level talks between the two companies since they terminated their century-old ties in May. "It seems like they had amicable discussions," said the spokesman, who declined to provide other details about the meeting. Bridgestone and Ford agreed to have further meetings, with John Lampe, CEO of Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. participating next time. Those talks haven't been scheduled yet
