SOUTH BEND, Ind. (Nov. 15)—Quest Specialty Chemicals Inc. has acquired the Adhesives and Sealants Division of Uniroyal Technology Corp., allowing Quest to further build its business in the adhesives, coatings and film industries. The Nov. 13 sale, which includes the assumption of notes, preferred stocks and cash, could equal about $21.6 million, according to a Uniroyal Technology statement. The sale is part of the firm's redeployment of assets into the semiconductor and optoelectronics business segment, said Howard R. Curd, chairman and CEO of Uniroyal Technology. The purchased segment, which was renamed Royal Adhesives and Sealants, is located in South Bend and is a manufacturer of adhesives for the roofing, transportation, marine, furniture and mirror industries. Based in South Bend, Quest Specialty Chemicals Inc. was founded in 2001 to acquire and build specialty chemical business.
