TORONTO (Nov. 8)—Exterior automotive parts maker Decoma International Inc.'s earnings for the third quarter increased 13.5 percent to $10.9 million. Sales for the quarter were $420 million, up 17 percent from the year-earlier period. Sales and earnings for the nine-month period also increased year over year, 20 percent and 16 percent, respectively. North American production sales for the nine-month period were up 21 percent to $873.1 million, despite a 13-percent reduction in vehicle production volume, Decoma said in its earnings release. The increased sales in North America and Western Europe were attributable to the full consolidation of the Conix group during the quarter, take-over programs from competitors and the launch of new business, the company said.
