NASHVILLE (Oct. 30)—"We offer our best" to William Clay Ford Jr., new Ford Motor Co. CEO, Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. said in a spartan public statement in reaction to the announcement that former CEO Jacques Nasser was leaving the auto maker. The tire company also said it wished "all success" to Ford, the great-grandson of Henry Ford, and his new management team. Bridgestone/Firestone did not mention Nasser, who blamed the tire maker alone for tread separations of Firestone tires equipped on Ford Explorers. Bridgestone/Firestone claims the design of the Explorer is at least partly to blame.
