EXTON, Pa. (Oct. 25)—Specialty chemicals producer Sartomer Co. has formed a new Specialty Polymers Group to market its polybutadiene and copolymer resins. The new division within Exton-based Sartomer is a result of the 2000 reorganization of French oil and chemical companies TotalFina and Elf Aquitaine to form TotalFinaElf, said James D. Zawicki, manager of advertising and sales promotion. Sartomer's Specialty Polymers Group will market the company's Poly bd-, SMA- and Ricon-brand resins. The firm had the Poly bd and SMA product lines in the 1980s, but they ended up being moved to another division of its parent firm, Zawicki said. But now TotalFinaElf believes the resins fit best with Sartomer's offerings.
