PLYMOUTH, Mich. (Oct. 10)—Johnson Controls Inc. said it is supplying the Chrysler Group of DaimlerChrysler A.G. with its PSI-Pressure Sensing Information tire pressure monitoring system for the 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans and the Chrysler 300M. The Jeep fitment marks the industry's first tire pressure monitoring system on a sport-utility vehicle, while the minivan programs reflect the first direct pressure system on their class of vehicle, Chrysler said. Johnson Controls' PSI system uses radio frequency and tire-mounted sensors to transmit pressure information to a central receiver in the vehicle's overhead console.
