WASHINGTON (Sept. 25)—The 2-year-old National Association of Scrap Tire Processors has agreed to become the new Tire & Rubber Division and Scrap Tire Processors Chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries. The ISRI board of directors and the NASTP executive committee voted unanimously to approve the merger. Joining ISRI will give the NASTP "a strong voice in Washington, D.C.," NASTP President Bill Vincent said in a news release, while ISRI hopes to gain more scrap tire processor members through its new division. The NASTP was founded, according to Vincent, mainly to give scrap tire processors "a place at the table" in the development of state scrap tire laws and regulations.
