PITTSBURGH (Sept. 25)—John Sellers was elected today by acclamation for a new four-year terms as United Steelworkers of America executive vice president in charge of the union's Rubber/Plastics Industry Conference. He has been head of R/PIC since March 1996, when he was appointed to fill the vacancy left by the retiring Kenneth Coss. Sellers faced no opposition for re-election during the R/PIC convention, being held in Pittsburgh Sept. 23-25. R/PIC membership is made up mainly by the locals that formerly belonged to the United Rubber Workers union, which merged with the Steelworkers in 1995.
