JOHNSTOWN, Ohio (Sept. 4)—Tech International president and CEO Pauline Chambers Yost, 84, and her husband Walter Yost, 80, were killed in an automobile accident Sept. 1. Pauline Yost had been president and CEO of Tech International since the death of her first husband and company predecessor Frank H. Chambers, who passed away in 1972. Under her direction, Tech International grew to become the largest producer of tire repair-related products in the world, the company said, with plants and offices in Europe, Asia, South America and Australia. Yost's daughter Cheryl Chambers Poulton will assume the acting duty of Tech's president and CEO. "The highest tribute we can pay my mother is to honor the standards by which she lived, loved and worked," Poulton said in a prepared statement. "(The Tech management is) committed to my mother's vision of employing Johnstown people... (and) growing the Tech manufacturing facility."
