LISBON, N.H. (Aug. 28)—New England Electric Wire Corp. will begin moving its extrusion equipment Sept. 17 into a new expansion at its Lisbon operation, enabling the maker of insulated wires and cables to streamline its manufacturing process. New England Electric Wire is adding about 120,000 square feet of space at one of its two plants in Lisbon, giving the firm a total of 360,000 square feet at the facilities, which are located across the street from each other. The 103-year-old company—located in Lisbon throughout its history—will use the expanded area to house a new extrusion facility, a shipping and receiving area, a tin-plating room, raw material storage, offices and a new quality control laboratory, according to information on the firm´s Web site. No investment figure for the expansion was revealed.
