AKRON, Ohio (Aug. 28)—Akron Polymer Laboratory, which in June was purchased by Tritech Laboratories L.L.C., has moved its entire operation to Tritech's nearby 20,000-sq.-ft. plant from quarters spanning 10,000 square feet. The unit will continue to be called Akron Polymer Laboratory and operate as a division of Tritech. The sale and move came just at the right time for Akron Polymer, said David Russell, who founded the company and serves as vice president and general manager of the division. The firm was growing but running out of space and "busting at the seams," Russell said. "I would have had to cut off the growth or leverage myself," he said. Then Tritech stepped in and made an offer that solved his problems, he said. The deal makes recently formed Tritech a big player in the polymer testing industry, and puts it three years ahead of schedule in its five-year business growth and diversification plan, according to Jeffrey J. Buda, president and CEO of Tritech and parent company Cadreco Inc.
