FAIRLAWN, Ohio (Aug. 8)—With its production facility gutted following a major blaze, Latex Foam Products Inc. has opened an East Coast fabrication/distribution plant to help handle customers' product needs until it has its manufacturing operation running again. The Ansonia, Conn.-based company is leasing a 50,000-sq.-ft. plant in Naugatuck, Conn., to turn foam into latex mattress cores, a company official said at the International Latex Conference, held July 31-Aug. 1 in Fairlawn. The new site gives the company three fabrication facilities. The others are Latex International Westùwhich recently moved from a 35,000-sq.-ft. plant in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., to a 93,000-sq.-ft. facility in La Mirada, Calif.ùand Latex International Northwest in Chehalis, Wash.
