MASSILLON, Ohio (July 18)—When glove and condom maker Ansell Healthcare Products Inc. stops producing surgical gloves at its plant in Massillon in September or October, it will leave only a few companies as producers of latex surgical glove manufacturing in the U.S. Ansell is moving production of the goods to Malaysia and India, and will sell its Massillon Perry facility. Another major medical glove maker, SSL International P.L.C., recently shut down its glove manufacturing operation in the U.S., transferring that production to its plants in Malaysia. About 100 jobs will be eliminated when Ansell closes its factory.
