Instron Corp. is marketing its new Shore S1 Durometer, which features a modular cartridge system. The system allows operators to test in any of the standard Shore scales-A, B, D, C, DO, O, OO and M. The results can be displayed either as a single test or the average of several tests, eliminating the need for operator calculations and possible errors, the company said. The audible test dwell time alarm can be set from zero to 99 seconds, ensuring test forces are applied for the same amount of time during each test. A tolerance audible alarm notifies the operator of parts that are out of the acceptable hardness range, the firm said. For more information, call 800-564-8378 or fax 781-575-5751.
