WASHINGTON (June 20)—Jeffrey Runge, assistant chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C., is the Bush administration's nominee to head the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Senate must vote on Runge's nomination, and there was no word today on when it would do so.
